Sarah Nelson is a pianist and music director. She is available for local or touring work.
Sarah Nelson is a music director and pianist with experience across national tours, regional theater, and higher education. Most recently, she served as Associate Music Director and Key 1 for Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations at The Muny, after previously touring with the show as Associate Music Director. She currently works in the new Musical Theater program at Oberlin Conservatory.
Other favorite credits include the Off-Broadway premiere of #Adulting, regional productions of Chicago, Jersey Boys, The Light in the Piazza, Sunday in the Park with George, and Lizzie, for which she received a St. Louis Theater Circle Award nomination. She earned her master’s degree in Collaborative Piano from NYU and was the first graduate of Webster University’s Music Direction for Musical Theatre program. She is also a member of the BMI Workshop and is currently developing her original musical, Raymie Nightingale, for a workshop and mainstage production at Oberlin.
